| Calibus | I am thinking of dumping my 69 camaro SS 350 and buying a Prowler. I have question regarding durability Most of the Cars i see on Ebay are very low milage in the Colors that i like. Is there a problem with buying a 2001-2002 car with 150 miles or less then a thousand miles. I am 6,2 254lbs will i be comfortable in the car. Also how do u find out if the Ball bearing recall was done and if not can someone recomend a NY Area dealer to do it. Also if you have alot of Miles on your Prowler let me know about long term reliablity i am planing to drive it about 8k miles a year and dont want to be fixing things all the time.
Also are parts hard to find. |

I am sure Marty Usher and a few others will chime in. Marty uses his as his daily driver and has over a 100K on his. I am fairly short so I will let the taller owners respond to how you will fit. |

| Melissa Santory | My guess is that you'll fit fine in the car. In terms of reliability, we bought our car just over two years ago with 29,000 miles in Colorado - and did a great ~1500 mile trip home with it. In these two years, we've put on a substantial 26,000 miles (including that first trip) using it as a daily driver, with no problems. (Knock on wood!) We'll likely replace the tires this fall, as they appear to be the original tires and are showing wear. Granted, there aren't many of us who put on that kind of mileage, but we have absolutely no complaints, and we've loved every mile!  |
| ed monahan | I am 6' 2" and about 230. I fit okay. It might take awhile to find the seat adjustment that you like the best.
I put over 50,000 on the first Prowler. I had to replace the transmission sensors twice. Not a big deal and fairly cheap, about $ 18 each and you can do it in about 5 minutes. No other problems. I have over 13,000 on the second one. No problems. |
| DanMan | I'm 6'5" 240lbs, the ride is tight with the top up, but I'm thinking at 6'2" you should be good. I'm near the Meadowlands if you ever want to meet and check it out. |
| Dave Mills | I have had my Prowler for 8 years now. It is a '99 with 21000 miles on it. No major problems other than tire sensors that I finally gave up on. |
| Calibus | What kind of 0-60 numbers can i expect and 1/4 mile times stock. So buying a car with 8-9k miles is better then driving a trailor queen since i am not planing to keep it stock and low milage i guess i can save some money. |

| jforbes | My 99 has a little over 56k miles on it. When I bought it in 2004, it had 32k miles. Until yesterday, I had not had anything go wrong. I drive it almost daily to/from work. Yesterday the tranny input sensor went bad and it got stuck in 2nd. Easy enough to fix though... Janet |

Actually, there was that woman a couple of years ago that cut me off in her minivan, the "special person" who decided to go straight from a left turn only lane and try to force me into a parked car, and the police officer that pulled you over for no front plate. So I'd say we loved every mile except 3.  However, we make up for those 3 miles every Christmas. Beware parents, vengeance is ours!! <cue evil genius laugh> -Dan PS. For those who don't know, we've been torturing parents every Christmas with the Prowler. Our evil procedure is as follows:
1) Put down the Prowler top.
2) Wear Santa hats.
3) Drive around. Kids lose their minds! It's like dangling a string in front of a kitten that has had a couple double espressos. I've considered buying a Santa beard, but I'm afraid of the repercussions.... |
| PharmKat | I bought mine with 2800 miles on it last year as a 2001 model, and I have had to replace all 4 shocks. Looking at the list of things done on warranty before I got it, the battery has been replaced about 4 times as well as the window regulators. I personally think that cars need to be driven at least a bit each year or things like shocks, that are designed to move, may go bad. just my opinion though.

| 392HEMI | Parts have been no problem for us although some have had to wait for the window regulators, if they break. Local dealers will do the ball joint recall for you and can tell you if they were already replaced. Dealer can also give you the "in service" date to see if factory warranty extension is available. I did this on both of ours and although expensive at the time it is very reassuring should there be any failures through 2008. Have put 24,000 miles on the two total in a year and a half and NO FAILURES. |

If you are expecting a "performance car" in the Prowler, it was intended as a Retro Street Rod and not a "Viper little brother" ... hate for you to be disappointed if your expectations are not set accordingly. You can modify til the cows come home though and get her to do what you wish ... just ask a few here (Mike K., Marc S., Dean, etc...) Best of luck with your purchase ... at the heart of it, buy the color you like!

| BeWare | I have only run it twice. I have run a 14.9 at 92 mph in LA. with Borla Exhaust and a CAI. My best 1/4 mile time to date with gears added to the above is a 14.7 at 93 mph. Both times it was hot and humid. Under the right conditions I am told I should be able to run around a 14.3 quarter. I think Tami Fischer ran a 14.5 in LA in 2005. Her Kat is stock except for maybe the exhaust. |

| Marty Usher | I have put about 25 - 30 thousand miles a year on my Prowler for the last 5 years. Yes, it is not the most practical daily driver, but it it the most FUN daily driver I have ever had! Most of my problems have been the result of operator error on the amount of fuel needed with the nitrous kit. If you can buy one and get an extended warranty, I would suggest getting it. Parts are still avaiable from dealers and some offer POA members cost plus 10%. It is designed as a cruiser but you can spend $$$ to get it to run in the 11's or 12's depending on how much you want to spend. ------------------

| pr4mncplus | You certainly can spend a lot of money on a Prowler. It would be a shame to just let one sit in the garage for the next 20 years without enjoying a great car. But each has a different idea how to use their own kat... |
| Calibus | I am fine just wondering what the car does 0-60 i am planing to keep it stock just going to use it for going out and cruising in the summer spring and fall i am planing to drive it about 5-7k miles a year. The only mod i want to do is the front bumper removal mod.
I have a car coming in that will address my speed need. its a 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8 in Silver Steel fully loaded.

| adacus | Hey Calibus: I'm a hugh "F" Body guy as well. 2nd and 3rd Generations are my gig. Nice wheels you have there. mmm, low vs high mileage on the Cat. Keep the lows in the lows and in the garage man. If your looking for the day drive, a high mile car will be the same dude. These cars are taken better care of then the family dog.
